The global leader in sports marketing research extends portfolio with strategic expansion in Italy
Milan/Cologne, 7 November 2013 – Repucom, the global leader in sports marketing research, today announced the acquisition of established Italian sports research agency Immagine & Sport. The Milan-based unit will be absorbed into Repucom and rebranded as Repucom Italia to become the country’s market leader in sports marketing research.
“We have had a close working relationship with Immagine & Sport in the area of media research for many years and it was a logical next step to integrate them into our group,” Marcel Cordes, President Europe of Repucom, said. “Italy is a key market in global sports and I believe this move is a strong sign of our commitment there. Our objective is not only to be the market leader in our field, but also a thought leader in sports and entertainment research and this expansion is another step towards achieving that level of recognition.”
Repucom has become established as the research provider of choice for over 1,000 of the top rights holders, brands, agencies and broadcasters in sports and entertainment worldwide. The company merged successfully with SPORT+MARKT in 2010 and later completed the acquisition of fellow industry pioneers IFM Sports, including IFM Sports Marketing Surveys. The combined business draws on more than 25 years of experience and accumulated insights.
