Commercial expert Lars Stegelmann complements Repucom’s management team

Repucom has appointed Lars Stegelmann as Executive Vice President Commercial Operations.

Cologne, 21 May 2015 – Repucom, the adviser in sports and entertainment intelligence, has appointed Lars Stegelmann (42) as Executive Vice President Commercial Operations. Mr. Stegelmann is based in Cologne and reports directly to Stephan Schröder, Repucom’s Managing Director DACH. Mr. Stegelmann leads the new business teams in the German-speaking region, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Portugal and Turkey.

“In an increasingly complex marketplace it is crucial to let go of single services and solutions in the optimisation of sponsorships. An all-encompassing view, which our connected solutions approach offers, is nowadays essential”, says Mr. Stegelmann. “It is my goal to encourage rights holders, marketers and brands to consider this approach during their strategic planning phase. We will also address new target groups and cooperate more closely with top management. In addition, I want to strengthen our position in the music and entertainment industry.”

Schröder adds: “Lars Stegelmann is an expert in the sports and entertainment business and thanks to his experience we will continue to grow in the German-speaking and European region. His expertise helps us and our existing team of experts to refine our connected solutions approach and to open up new business opportunities.”

Mr. Stegelmann, who has two degrees in business management and social economics, can rely on nine years of experience as a sales and marketing expert with a focus on sports and entertainment. Amongst others, he worked for MATCH Hospitality and the FIFA Football World Cup in South Africa in 2010, for UEFA linked to EURO 2012 as well as the UEFA Champions League final 2012 in Munich. Most recently he developed the commercial concept for the new Formula E series of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

In addition, Mr. Stegelmann worked for more than seven years for the international consulting companies PricewaterhouseCoopers and Roland Berger Strategy, where he gained valuable experience. He has worked and lived in Switzerland, Poland, Ukraine, Great Britain, Belgium, South Africa and Germany. Mr. Stegelmann has extensive knowledge and understanding of rights holders, federations, agencies and brands.
