Seoul, 19.08.15 – Repucom, the trusted adviser in sports and entertainment intelligence has today announced it will be opening in South Korea.
Based in Seoul, Repucom’s new business operations will be led by John Mou, who takes up the role of Managing Director, Korea. The move will ensure Repucom continues to deliver leading, localised solutions to the market’s broad brand and rights holder landscape across both sports and entertainment.
Paul Smith, Founder and CEO, Repucom, said:
“South Korea represents one of the most forward facing markets for sports and entertainment, where technology continues to play a pivotal role. Repucom has for many years been working with some of the biggest brands locally, including LG, Hyundai and Samsung and we are now in a position to start to grow that portfolio and our operational base.
“Our objective is not only to become the market leader in providing trusted solutions in sports and entertainment intelligence, but also to convey our global expertise locally. We will work to ensure the South Korean sports and entertainment industry benefits from our best in class advice through our global network of leading experts, establishing an industry standard to sponsorship measurement and commercial intelligence which we have become known for around the world.”
John Mou, Managing Director, Korea, Repucom, said:
“This move will allow our clients to benefit from the best globally benchmarked sponsorship research insights and solutions and offer potential clients something they cannot yet get here in South Korea. Combined with our local market expertise, establishing a fully owned, fully operational base here in Seoul will help both brands and rights holders to better understand the real value of their sponsorship investments and how to best optimise them.
“With the international focus back on this diverse market in the lead up to the 2018 Winter Olympics, hosted in PyeongChang, this year offers an ideal time to launch, giving brands and rights holders the support they need to ultimately increase their value footprint and drive revenues.”
John Mou will take charge of business operations for the venture. Prior to joining Repucom, Mr Mou had worked for over 14 years for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Accommodation Office and MATCH Hospitality across various FIFA tournaments, including both the Men’s and Women’s World Cups.
Repucom’s new South Korean operations will allow for a greater emphasis on localised solutions whilst also expanding the organisation’s footprint across Asia, where it already has established bases in India, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.
