Yokohama set to make their mark

With the return of the UEFA Champions League tonight, Chelsea’s match against Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge will provide Yokohama Rubber with yet another opportunity to increase their exposure in football.

The tyre manufacturer’s partnership with English Premier League club, Chelsea FC this season has provided the Japanese firm with an outstanding platform to promote the brand, an investment which is certainly paying off.  Largely reported to be one of the largest sponsorship endorsements in Premier League history, the five-year long partnership will ensure Yokohama is a brand which will be seen not only across Europe but around the world, thanks to the Premier League’s growing international appeal.

Taking the first half of the 2015/16 Premier League season into account, Yokohama Rubber received the second highest amount of media value of any front of shirt sponsor in the league, second only to US automotive brand, Chevrolet.

The main reason for such an immediate impact for the brand in terms of returns in media value is thanks in large part to their sponsorship status with Chelsea FC, with Yokohama’s front of shirt sponsorship generating extensive media exposure worldwide.
